Anyone remember me, titch Paton as was called then. Can remember training with Alan Whitehill, Dave Ray,Bob Ferrari, Pete Sheldon who I think came from somewhere in Kent. I remember being looked after very well by everyone because of my size hence the name titch. Not so little nowadays though. Finished my service in 1993 and an extra 11 years in the TA. Served with 36 ENGR. REGT. in Maidstone Kent 1971-75 where I met my wife Carol and married in 1973 and still together. Two children and recently became a grandfather. Mobile Display Team 1975-77. with Brian Hymers, Colin Edge, Harry Martley. Graham Beard, Larry Downes. 2 Armed Div. Sigs. in Bunde 1977-1981. Remember with much fondness Ricky Pulling and Benny Benniston.and Bobby Hornal.( always had his army raincoat on it seemed). RAOC Depot in Deepcut 1981-83 again with Ricky Pulling. Tour of Falklands for 6 months in 1982. Can recall Clive Waters, really top guy. Wally Torrington, then captain had a big say in my promotion to sergeant.  you were always a proper gentleman. thank you. Posted to Sandhurst. First stint as sergeant and not my favourite posting to say the least. Did only one year. 19 Fld Regt. RA. Dortmund 1984-87. 5th Innis.DG. 1987-89. Last posting to 5 Trg. Regt RCT TA in Grantham where i am living now. Did a further 11 years in the TA. in Nottingham with 73 Engr Regt. Worked for 10 years catering in Melton Mowbray for Aramark, then took up taxi driving in Grantham until 2008 and now a full time foster carer for Foster Care Associates. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me. Back in 1968 as a four foot 7 inch little Jock I would never have dreamt of staying in the forces for so long a time. I dont think I would change anything if had it over again. So many great times and some brilliant memories and mates. Good luck to all.

Hello Mate
I think I remember you. Dave "Buggy" Elson here. I was STU squad just following you guys. I used to be well into Led Zeppelin at the time and am I correct in that you were into Deep Purple (Deep Purple In Rock) ?
I don't recall you being Scottish though, so I may be wrong.
Had I known about this post sooner I'd have tried to find you. I'm in Seattle now but come from Nottingham and went back for vacation last May.
Won't write too much but if you get this (read this) email me at DaveElson at Yahoo.com
Have fond memories of St Omer 68 - 71.
Cheers.
