I remember the Droppin' Well incident, in December 1982. We lived up the road in Clooney Base, Londonderry . Our lads went down to Ballykelly when it happened. Some of our people were lost, as well as the young lads from the Corps. It must have been devastating for the Kitchen staff ,and their unit in general, to have lost so many in one go.

I did 16 years with the Corps. The ACC was one of the few Corps, to bend over backwards and in all directions, and to have been sh*fted all the time by every Tom, Dick and Harry.

No matter how badly we were sometimes treated, and how we may be seen by so called "Five portions Telly Stars" , we were the best. And I believe we still must be.
