Does anyone know of a Cecil Philip Ross, (may have used Harris-Ross) who was serving in India in the 1940s in the army catering corps? Bangalore area in the early 1930s (possibly civilian at that point)?

His occupation is given as "army catering corps (manager)". Does that make sense? What would that involve?
