Many of a certain vintage will remember John Le Maitre.
He was an Apprentice in the early 70's and went on to be a WO2.
Sadly he has succumbed to cancer after a year long battle.
Aside from catering he was particularly well known as a yachtsman and took part in the Whitbread round the world race in 1974.
