Hi, my name is Mike Tanner and I joined the Corps aged 17 1/2 years in March 1957 as a 3 year regular at Ramilles. I do not remember any names but I do seem to recall that I was also in St Omer and Oudenarde barracks.
After training, first as a drill instructor then as a cook, I went to the Wilts and Dorset at Devizes and then on to the 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Fusiliers as we left on the troop ship Devonshire headed for Lybia where I served until demobbed in 1960.
