 Wikepedia and the ACC site includes a post on a history of the Corps, wherein lays the claim, The National Servicemen assigned to the Corps were generally poorly motivated and lacked incentive. I find this mildly offensive.
Why the writer should single out post war ACC National Servicemen as differing from draftees in other branches of the Military puzzles me. Did he hold a grudge against the nosh because it wasn't how mum made it? Possibly.
As far as I was concerned, in every OR's mess I ever ate in, the grub was of good standard. Service was fast, food was fresh, hot and tasty. There were never any leavings on my plate,,,,,,,
Then again, maybe that was because I was a Bisto Kid.
